Acute inflammation of the tonsils is a common and painful condition primarily seen in children. It should not be neglected due to the severe complications that may arise, such as rheumatism and nephritis.

1. Acute tonsillitis may manifest superficially with general inflammation of the pharynx or follicular tonsillitis. Follicular is more common, where the tonsil fills with pus & appears as small yellowish spots. If the infection spreads into surrounding tissues, it forms a peritonsillar abscess called quinsy. It's an excruciating condition, with pain sometimes extending to the ear. Tonsillitis onset is abrupt, starting with a sore throat, difficulty swallowing, malaise, fever, headache & limb pain. Acute tonsillitis should be differentiated from other types linked to diphtheria, syphilis or certain infectious diseases like scarlet fever.

- Adults: 4 tablets at a time

- Children: 2 tablets at a time

At a time, four times a day at intervals of three hours.
